Permission Granted 🔮
For awhile I kept waiting for my work to expand in this really magical way. I thought I was going to have a “big download” or a spontaneous channel from my guides would come through and it would be the thing everyone needed to hear.
The thing is, I was really just waiting for some kind of external permission slip to share. Meanwhile, I was sharing my “downloads” in one -on- one sessions, little snippets of my personal experience and intuitive guidance came through all the time. But I thought the thing that would make me special would come from outside of myself. I was waiting to be gifted the “right information” that would be of value and service to the world.
I never really considered that my own personal experience was enough. I put a lot of emphasis on the tools I learned along the way, they helped me so I taught them to many others in hopes they would do the same. And although the tools were powerful, so was the way I used them and what I learned from using them.
I wonder how often we do this- wait for permission, wait for someone or something to happen so we can be or do what we want. We by-pass the value of our own lived experience because we see others in what we perceive as a better position and we assume we need the same tools or knowledge they have.
There is a quote by Swami Rama that states, “Guru is like a boat crossing the river. It is important to have a good boat, and it is very dangerous to have a boat that is leaking. The boat brings you across the river. When the river is crossed the boat is no longer necessary. You don’t hang onto the boat after completing the journey, and you certainly don’t worship the boat”.
Whether the boat is a teacher or a tool like tarot, the magic isn’t just in the tool, the magic is in our ability to make use of the tool or the wisdom gained and integrate it and create change. For a long time, I shared only the tools, I crossed the river but instead of continuing on my journey, I stayed on the river bank and worshipped the boat.
The boat was useful, but I could have swam across the river or found (or built!) a bridge. I wanted everyone to know about the boat, but I never shared much about the journey I took on it and how it changed my life. In fact, I was a bit scared and ashamed to share why and how I need the boat in the first place.
I realize now I don’t really need the boat anymore. The simple act of sharing the wisdom gained on that journey, in an way makes me the boat for others. So I can take my gurus off of their pedestals, I can trust in the value of my own lived experience, and I can stop waiting for permission to share. I can trust what I know and give others permission to do so as well.
I’ve learned that the best gurus are the ones that guide you back to yourself.

Six of Pentacles, rx + Fire △
The themes of the six of pentacles are generosity and reciprocity, we have planted seeds, worked to water and weed, and now the fruits of our efforts begin to bud. It may not be the full harvest, but we trust and know it is coming.
So why are we still doubting ourselves? The reversed position shows an imbalance here- are you putting in more than you are getting back? Or have you lost hope and stopped putting in the work altogether? Fire suggests we bring some action to this plan. And while we can’t force nature to move faster, we can certainly keep putting in the daily work necessary to ensure a good harvest and another after that.
This might be a good time to come back to your why. Why are you doing this work? Are you only thinking of what you have to gain? What about the actual process do you enjoy? How do you feel when you stick to your discipline, to the habits, routines and structures you’ve put into place?
If you’ve grown stagnant, get moving again! If you’ve lost hope, get out and make some moves, if you feel your efforts have come without reward, maybe it’s time to set a boundary or go back to your why and make some adjustments. If your finances are off, maybe it’s time to save more or give to charity. All is not lost, you may just need to reignite your passions.
