Virgo Season is in full swing and that New Moon packed a real punch, loves. If it stretched you, or just pissed you off, know that you are not alone. In astrology, a square is an intense transit, and there were quite a few of them over the past few days.
Mercury, planet of communication, has shifted into Libra, the sign of love, beauty and relationships. It will also retrograde in this sign starting next week on September 9th, a transit we also had last September. We may revisit some of the same themes from last year and this is an excellent time for rest and reflection, Mercury retrograde can give us the gift of learning how to better express ourselves in a certain area of our lives.
As a Libra rising with a whole bunch of planets there, I find a lot of my soul lessons come through relationship. When we can learn to see our relationships as sacred mirrors 🪞, there is so much we can learn about ourselves.
We are now in the shadow period of Mercury rx, so the planet is moving through the area that it will backtrack or retrograde in soon. Start to pay attention to any themes coming up in relationship. Be mindful of what feels balanced, where you need more support, if you are showing up the way you want to, if your actions feel in alignment with your values, etc.
One of the most powerful lessons I have learned in relationship is responsibility. The ability to respond, rather than react, to discern when I am emotionally triggered, and find tools that help bring me back to center. This does not mean I take responsibility for other’s actions or emotions, but rather I see how my own actions, emotions or reactions are not caused by another and are specific to me. When I learn to release blame and truly own my part, it also opens me to try to see another point of view.
I better understand that there is more than one truth, one “right” way, that what is in my zone of tolerance is very different than another person. Communication is huge in relationship, and I think it really starts within. The way we talk to ourselves, the time we take to truly listen, to discern which thoughts, behaviors, actions are in alignment with our true nature.
I communicate attention when I take the time to listen in meditation to all the thoughts, feelings, tensions and simply say, you belong.
I communicate love when I place a hand on my heart while feeling stressed & I take a few deep breaths to reset.
I communicate support when I cook a nourishing meal or take time for things I love to do.
I communicate self worth when I say the hard things even though I know it will displease others.
I communicate courage when I catch myself in a total mental spiral and I stop to say, this is a story, but it’s possible there is another outcome I can’t yet see.
I communicate vulnerability when I let myself lean into the tension and resistance, to see what is underneath.
This week, I’m focusing on clear, honest and authentic expression and paying attention to all the little ways I communicate throughout my day.

Four of Stones, rx + Friendship
A perfect mercury in Libra ♎️ combination- the four of stones/pentacles reversed, often represents beliefs around scarcity or lack in relationship.
I have pulled this for someone who is being too frugal- afraid to spend the money they have for fear of never receiving more. Or for the man dating 4 women, all of which he knows are not right but he holds them close out of fear of being alone and/or making a true commitment.
In tarot, the “fours” represent stability, so the questions I’m imagining being asked: How can I find more stability in my friendships (relationships)? What do I need to let go of, so I can create space for more to come in? What (ideas/beliefs/people/resources) am I clinging to, afraid of losing?
Maybe instead of letting go, we can just loosen our grip.
Maybe we can say, “I really want this [money/friendship/partner] but I don’t need it.”Maybe I can shift my attachment to it just slightly, and open to what is here now and have gratitude for that too.
Maybe I can let it be possible that a new [money/job/person] is right around the corner, just waiting for me to open up and receive it.
Maybe I have more in my heart to give.
Vibes:
Gratitude rituals, relationships as sacred mirrors, looking at your attachment styles, defining your ideal [partner/money/relationship] situation & how you can/will show up for it, heart opening meditations, exploring new possibilities, setting clear and healthy boundaries to protect your energy, giving generously without expectation
